So now what?

This blog started after the hoopla of wedding planning was over, and we were wondering what the next steps in life held for us. Now it's a new adventure for 3.

Jacob, my other boyfriend

Ok, so before I forget, this is so totally blog-worthy...

A few weekends ago, Sam and I took a drive to Gananoque to go see Hedley. Ok, Sam was more interested in Fifi Dobson, who was opening for them, but I was 100% certain that she would be entertained by Hedley. Just a reminder, in case you have had your head stuck in the sand, that Hedley is Jacob Hoggart's band. I adore Jacob (from Canadian Idol a few seasons back).

Fifi was pretty good, I recognized a few songs from the radio. But Hedley kicked some mad butt. First he kicked butt, then he showed it! Yes, you read correctly - he was on stage and dropped his drawers just for me! Ok, not just for me really, but it's my story and I can pretend it happened however I want! He asked the audience (me) how to spell Hedley, and then turned around, pulled down his TIGHT jeans, and proudly displayed his cheeks, which had
H-E-D-L-E-Y written across them! Yessssss!

He's pretty insane in concert, I think he needs ritalin, but he is just so much fun to watch.

I took a TON of pics, but they did't turn out so great, sigh. And my computer is still screwy - any page that requires a 2nd screen pop-up, like say, adding pictures here for example... doesn't work, so you can't even see the crummy ones, argh!
***Edited*** I found a way to share - go to the sidebar on the right, and click on the picture links I created for the concert!!!!! No you can see Jacob too!

Now go and look! ------------------------------------>

At one point he pulled a little girl (lets pretend it was me!) out of the audience and taped her hand to his, so she had to move wherever he went for an entire song, and he made a pretty good effort of running around like crazy and flinging her this way and that way. So jealous. Why couldn't he have marched all the way to the back of the crowd to find me and bring me on stage?

And the kicker... I just heard on the news that he was arrested for public intox the next morning... guess they were partying pretty hard after the concert! So funny that he got arrested in tiny little Gan, of all places!

Later!

Another day...

So, more updating!
I'm off of my job shadowing now (was 9 months) and back in my old position... which means I'm on the road more often. Which is great, because I had the chance to catch up with Katie today over lunch. This used to be a regular date, because I worked near her office, so it was fairly convenient to get together. Since I got the shadowing, not so much. It's also nice to be back next to Caroline - within my first days back she was cracking me up with her roomie, also our co-worker's "bat adventure"... always good stories! When I was over on the other side, I was pretty much glued to my cubicle, trying to make a good impression. Now I'm back in my comfort zone again, and it's really not too bad.
Gotta get ready to grab Sam and go to Nate's ball game!
Later,

mrs.smith

Soooo.... what the heck has the rest of the world been up to???
I've been so busy with planning the wedding and having computer probs (which still aren't fixed, but we are back on the internet at least)... I've been totally out of the blogging loop.
And you know what.
I missed it.
A lot.

I don't even know where to start now.
Ok - the wedding.

It was awesome. Amazing. It was just so much freakin' fun, I couldn't believe it!
I was a bundle of emotion leading up to the day... but as soon as I started walking towards Nate, I was on cloud nine. My girls kept me calm, I had so much fun with them! Dad did great. The ceremony was perfect. Pictures were fun. Dinner was good from what I remember.

And then something happened.
My mother could have easily ruined my day, and I'll leave it at that for now. Let's just say it's a month and a half since the wedding, and we're still not speaking. She's in hiding, and I'm so angry my blood could boil. Her behaviour: inexcusable.

But moving on... (deep breath)... our first dance as hubby & wife kicked some serious butt if I do say so myself - it was great taking those lessons beforehand, I think we surprised a few people!

So many people helped out and we were surrounded by so many people that care about us, it really was incredible. Mel & Ang (and her hubby!) came out from back home in Alberta. Same with one of Nate's buddies, Steve. And my Dad! I am glad he was down for the 3 weeks before the wedding - it would have been hard to visit otherwise, around all the planning.

And the best part - the very next day after our wedding we started our Honeymoon in the Dominican!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still can't believe we really said screw it and booked our trip 3 days before the wedding. Best decision we ever made!

That's it for now... trust me, there will be more details soon!
