I'm back, who knew this thing was still sitting out here in cyber land. I thought about deleting it. But since my dear hubby Nate has started a blog, and I need to log in to post my words of support, well, I think I may as well breathe some new life into this blog.

It's probably just going to be a place to update on Alexis, she's pretty much the center of my world right now, and if you want to peek in, c'mon in and do so.

I think it's time to pull the plug.
More than a few of my favorite blogs have fallen off the face of the earth...

There's more people on that puppy than I thought... it's kinda fun looking up to see if peole you may have lost touch with are signed up on there.
Not sure how many sites I have the energy to keep up.
Only down side to the new site is that you have to sign up to be a member in order to see other pages, I think.

Working like crazy. It's nuts right now - getting back into the swing of things, it's a little hard after being away from that job for awhile, but it won't take long.

2006... done and gone...

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Got married.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I have good intentions for a few days... just trying to be healthier overall is my goal this year I guess... is that vague enough?
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Lets see... Shawna & Rob had Ben this year. Oh, and Randy & Angie had Brody. So "yes".
4. Did anyone close to you die?
None of my family or close friends, luckily.
5. What countries did you visit?
We honeymooned in Dominican.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A house. New car. No debt (wishful thinking!). A cleaning lady.

I'm thinking my wedding, for obvious reasons...

Landed the job I shadowed for a good part of the year.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Family relationships, though it's not all on me.

Nate's brother thought I got my hair braided to tight and am a little cookoo ever since we came back from Dominican. Does that count?
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My GT-Xpress... so what if it came from an infomercial. Go ahead and judge me. But I can make a 7 minute cake with peanut butter cups in the middle. Can you????

In 2006 - that's easy. The wedding.

Being able to slip away from everything wedding related and just be ourselves on our honeymoon.

Happier. Fatter - hense the new gym membership starting in March. Richer - thank you new job.

Spend more time with friends, family. Spend more time on my hobbies.

Stress about work and wedding planning. So much stress for one day... when nothing that goes wrong really matters because you're too happy to care.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With family. Nate & I travel from house to house for now.

Stayed in love.

Zero

CSI anything, Grey's Anatomy, The OC, Desperate Housewives

Hate is too strong of a word to use. So no.

Any of the "Shopoholic" series... sucker for chick lit that makes me laugh.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Definately not my karaoke singing. And my playing the tamborine with bands isn't new to 2006 either... hmmm... I have no idea.
28. What did you want and get?
My promotion. Married finally.
29. What did you want and not get?
Out of my apartment and into a house. Continue dance lessons after the wedding.

Umm, I have no fashion concept. I get dressed too early in the morning... I'm happy if I match.

My friends.

Ummm...

I guess it's a Johnny Depp year. And I'm not just saying that because we played pin the (censored) on Johnny for my bachelorette party...

Sometimes you have to stand your ground no matter how much it hurts - people treat you the way that you let them treat you.

Christmas eve was a blast!
We had get-together at Nate's parents, same as every year, where friends and family all pop in.















Good eats, good times, good karaoke.
Well, some good karaoke. Some bad karaoke.
I was mostly bad karaoke. As usual.












The kids liked it though!















Christmas day was less eventful, a little more mellow, but still good.
I even went to see mom. Yup, you read those words right.
Christmas got to me. So I decided to pay a quick visit.
It went. That's about the only way to summarize. Only time can tell.
Didn't go badly, per say. But it didn't feel comfortable either.

And the shooting that I mentioned in a previous post?
I knew her. Her x-husband shot her. She was such a sincere, kind person...a maternity ward nurse at the hospital now. They have 2 little girls together. 9 & 5. Awful. Killed 2 days before Christmas. I worked with her at the factory a few years back. Last time I saw her at the bar she told me she had finally left her husband. Sheesh. That stuff goes on in the big cities all the time, but it's so strange when it's local. Someone you knew.

I am hoping that NYE makes me feel a bit more festive... we decided to have a party at our place, fairly last minute. Should be fun.

One more sleep...

So Santa comes tonight...

And like everyone else I've been talking too... I'm just not quite feeling it yet.
We're ready.
Presents are wrapped & in bags for their special destinations.
Xmas Eve Haystacks rady to go.
Just have to do up some laundry, whip up a cheesecake for Xmas Dessert, and we should be smooth sailing into tomorrow.
But brownish dingy grass outside doesn't make me happy.
Especially when nearly every xmas song mentions SNOW.

Last night did not add to my Christmas spirit. I got stopped at a police check, because they were searching vehicles for a suspect in a shooting that had just happened about 2 blocks up from me. "Miss are you alone in the car...?" Flashlight shined right in my face and all inside the car. This stuff doesn't happen in our little city. Sheesh.

So anyways - to anyone that still reads my humble little ramblings - Merry Christmas to you and your families...hope Santa brings each of you exactly what you want... I'll catch you again after Xmas.

Hang a wreath, they will come

Like 2 whole seconds after my last post, I went to take a picture of the worlds ugliest wreath... as shown below (thought you might appreciate how sad it really does look and maybe buy me a new one!!!)

On my way to open the door so I can take a picture of this snazzy little "thing"... I notice someone has slipped something under the door.

I'm guessing the little rug rats must actually like it?????
Seriously, it was up for no more than 5 minutes while I was blogging, until I went to go take a picture.
In that brief period of time it apparently got a passing grade from one of the poor blind neighbor children...and they took the time to slip a little note of appreciation under the door...that is just too freaking funny!!!!!!
